Some Myths in the Christian Realm

The Christian churches are filled with myths, superstitious, legends and folklore based on religious traditions or practices believed by many as originally Scriptural. These myths exists, and continues to deceive the majority of ignorant believers. Myths are lies and can never be true.

1. The Christian can lose his salvation and the free gift of eternal life.
2. The Christian who dies with  unconfessed sins will go directly to hell.
3.  The Christian or anyone who commits suicide will spend his eternity in hell.

4.  Those who talk about suicide are “all talk” and won’t complete suicide.

5. Those who have attempted suicide really wanted to die.

6. Asking someone if they are thinking about suicide will only give them “ideas.”

7. Those who have attempted suicide are at very low risk of actually completing suicide.

8. If someone says that he or she is suicidal, telling him or her to “do it” will snap them out of it.

9. Most suicides occur with little or no warning.

10. Improvement following a suicidal crisis means that the suicidal risk is over.

11. Non-fatal acts are only attention-getting behaviors or only attempts to be manipulative.

12. Once a person is suicidal, he or she will be suicidal forever.

13. A person must be baptized in water to be saved.
14.  People will go to heaven after the required purging in purgatory.
15. The speaking in tongue is evidence that you have received the Holy Spirit
16. Speaking of tongues is a sign of spiritual maturity, authority and power.
17. Because Jesus Christ is thesame yesterday, today and tomorrow, therefore the speaking of tongues is still valid for today.
18. The Holy Spirit is the same as the Holy Ghost.
19. Apostle Peter preached, imprisoned, died and buried in Rome.
20. Paul and Silas used the King James Version of the Bible.
21. Christians that use Bible other than KJV 1611 are apostate.
22. Jesus was only a man. He is not God.
23.  Jesus is a God, but not co-equal with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.
24. The Holy Spirit is a force, and not a Person of the Godhead.
25.  Because the word "Trinity" is not used in the Bible, the Godhead as a "Trinity" is non-existent.
26. Jesus was not resurrected. His followers stole His body.
27. There is physical healing of all sicknesses and illnesses  in the atonement.
28.   If God doesn't heal you, it's because you lack faith in God or because you are sinning.
29.  God has predestined some to heaven and some to hell, apart from human volition.
30. The doctrine of Trinity is not biblical because it teaches that there are three gods.
31. The rapture and the Second Advent are synonymous terms.
32.  The Bible is not the inerrant, infallible, divinely inspired Word of God.
33. The Bible is full of contradictions.
34.  Men wrote the Bible independently from God.
35.  Believers can be indwelt or possess by the demons.
36. Believers can be controlled by the Holy Spirit, today by self-dedication, prayer and fasting.
37.  Believers can be filled with the Holy Spirit by prayer, fasting and praising God.
38. Christian music prepares the heart for worship of God.
39. Anyone can worship God, anytime, anywhere.
40.  The church council is the final authority in all matters regarding his own ministry in the local church.
41.  The Pastor is to do the bidding of his congregation.
42. Once a deacon, always a deacon.
43. Deacons are a decision making Board of men whose responsibility it is to be the church's watchdog, and to especially protect the church from the Pastor.
44.  God is calling men to preach, serve or to minister and such calling is sacred.
45. God calls women to preach and to pastor local churches.
46. God's plan includes the ordination of women to the pastorate.
47. The gifts of apostle, prophet, healing, miracles, faith, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues, a word of knowledge and a word of wisdom are still operational within the church today.
48. The spiritual gifts are something that believers must ask the Holy Spirit.
49. The "anointed" preachers of our time can do greater things than what the Lord Jesus Christ has perfromed.
50. The believer can request from God pertinent spiritual gifts he desires. 
51.  God commanded Christians to heal the sick.
52. God heals all kinds of sickness through the hands of His anointed servants.
53. Bible doctrine is not important for the Christians.
54. Spiritual growth is possible without Bible doctrine.
55. Loving each other is more important than Bible doctrine.
56.  Bible doctrine makes the Christian arrogant.
57. Spiritual power is the ability to perform miracles and healing.
58. Faith is what you can do in the power of God.
59. All men are children of God.
60. All men are born with with body, soul and human spirit.
61. All men are born without sin.
62.  Baptism of Fire is for the believers.
63. The church will go through the Tribulation.
64. There will be no Tribulation or Millennium.
65. Rapture comes after the Tribulation.
66.  Numerous prophecies will be fulfilled before the Rapture.
67. Rapture is being delayed because Christians are not witnessing.
68. Christians are commanded to tithe.
69. Tithing is where the believer begins to give, not where he ends his giving.
70. God opens the windows of heaven and pours out blessings upon “tithers”.
71. Those who generously pays their tithes and gives their offerings are free from disaster.
72. Christians who do not tithe are guilty of robbing God. 
73.  Capital punishment is not valid, today.
74. Capital punishment is barbaric.
75. The Bible is too antiquated for today's enlightened society.
76.  Homosexuality or lesbianism is not a sin.
77.  Homosexuals are born homosexuals.
78. All homosexuals and lesbians are going to hell.
79. It is impossible for homosexuals and lesbians to become Christians. 
80. It's best to live together before marriage just to make sure you love one another.
81. It's o.k. for a born-again believer to marry an unbeliever because of the influence the believer will have on the unbeliever.
82. Marriage is not important as long as you love each others.
83. Husband and wives will remain lovers in heaven. 
84.  If one drink makes a person drunk, half-a-drink makes him half-drunk.
85.  Premarital sex is o.k. if the couple loves one another.
86. Oral sex is not sex.
87. All sex is evil. 
88. The fetus inside the womb of a woman is a human being.
89. those who committed abortion are guitly of murder in the sight of God.
90. Christians should pray to receive the Holy Ghost.
91. The Holy Spirit leaves the Christian upon commission of sin.
92. The Holy Spirit is not a person but a force. 
93.   Being "slain in the Spirit" is part of the Holy Ghost's ministry, today.
94. The Bible teaches the practice of "slaying people in the Spirit."
95. Believers do not have the Holy Ghost, today, because they do not ask for Him.
96.  If Jesus returns while you are in the movie theatre, you will miss the rapture.
97. The King James Version of the Bible contains no errors.
98. To believe that life begins at the moment of physical birth makes you pro-abortion.
99. The baby in the womb is a human life and therefore, abortion is a murder. 
100. Enoch went to heaven when he was translated.
101.  Elijah went to heaven when he was caught up into the air.
102. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the same person, namely, Jesus.
103. The devil and his demons are responsible for all the sins and evil in the world.
104. Nobody is responsible for any of his devious act because the devil made him do it.
105. Satan through his demons are forcing men to follow his evil scheming.
106. To receive the forgiveness of God, one has to do some good works, penance or sacrifices.
107. To confess your sin before God is to beg, plea, ask, or feel sorry before God and men. 
108.  Man must work for his salvation.
109.  Church splits are God's plan for church expansion.
110. Praising God is verbal expression.
111. God commanded Church Age Christian to pray and fast. 
112. Natural disasters are God’s punishment against unbelievers.
113. God ordained and appointed political leaders.
114.  The believer’s tongue has the power to bless people.
115.  Exorcism is mandated to Church age believers.
116.  Public confession of sin is biblical and therefore must be practiced by Christians.
117. Commitment and dedication of self is important part of worship.
118.  Prayer and fasting is vital for reaching spiritual victory.
119. The Holy Spirit assist every believer every time they pray.
120. Praying for every specific need is effectual prayer.
121. Three things will last forever: the human soul, the Word of God and things you have done for Christ.
122. The Lord Jesus Christ died on Friday and rose from the grave on Sunday.
123. Sleeping in the church during the preaching of Bible doctrine is not a sin.
124. Inter-denominationalism is non-denominationalism.
125. Aspiring and doing great thing for God is divine will for believers.
126. Some angels are female, some are babies roaming half naked.
127. In the Church Age, some angels appears in human form.
128. In our dispensation, angels are waging war against the forces of darkness.
129. Cupids are angels.
130. The humanity of Christ was born on midnight of December 25.
131. The Lord Jesus Christ was visited by three kings from the east when He was born.
132. Mary remained virgin after giving birth to the humanity of Christ.
133. The Lord Jesus Christ died physically to redeem mankind.
134. The Lord Jesus washed the disciple feet and instituted the Lord's Supper on Thursday.
135. The Lord Jesus Christ prayed and was arrested in the garden of Gethsamene on Thursday evening.
136. The Lord Jesus Christ was too weak and almost dead when He reached Golgotha.
137. The Lord Jesus Christ did not die spiritually.
138. God died on a cross in behalf of the sinful human race.
139. The Lord Jesus Christ was killed or murdered by men.
140. The Lord Jesus Christ was crucified on Friday.
141. The Lord Jesus Christ bleed to death while on the cross.
142. The Lord Jesus Christ resurrected on sunrise of Sunday.
143. The dead body of the Lord Jesus was in the tomb from Friday to Sunday early morning.
144. The cross is God's given symbol of Christianity.

145. The wages of death is physical death.
